Matter launch is postponed to fall 2022

Unfortunately, there is another delay in the launch of the new smart home standard matter. After there were already some rumors, it is now official. As the umbrella organization CSA has announced in its own blog, the launch will be postponed at least until fall 2022.

The delay is related to a need of furthers tests, where “more than 130 devices from 15 device and sensor categories from more than 50 member companies” are to participate.

The official certification program is planned to be open to all companies from fall 2022, so it is quite likely that there will be further delays in the introduction of new products.
