OLED TVs from LG can control matter devices

LG presented its new webOS 22 operating system for smart TVs at CES. It is used on the new 2022 generation TVs of the OLED market leader. Among many other innovations, the manufacturer also announces support for matter.

With an update planned for the second half of the year, it should then be possible to control compatible matter devices via LG’s OLED TVs. They are already supporting LG’s own smart home system ThinQ, but will become even more versatile with matter.

According to LG, smart home control on TV via matter will be possible with the A2, B2, C2, G2 and Z2 OLED series as well as the QNED models with mini-LED backlight. After Samsung, another leading TV manufacturer has committed to matter.
