Tuya has been part of matter for quite some time. In the context of CES 2022, the Chinese manufacturer has now committed to the new standard matter once again. The company has confirmed that its own platform will support the new standard.
So far, it is still unclear how the implementation will take place exactly. The Chinese manufacturer currently uses the wireless standards WLAN and Zigbee to include compatible products. WLAN is also known to be used by matter, and Zigbee can be implemented via compatible gateways. There is no information about Thread yet.
Tuya does not offer its own devices, but provides an IoT platform and app. Interested manufacturers can integrate Tuya into their own products via the wireless chips offered. There are many smart home devices on the market that are compatible with Tuya, but most of them come from unknown brands.
